Billing Policy

OSHC & OVHC: We use HICAPS to claim payment for GP consultations directly from your private health insurance. Please note; an out of pocket fee applies to all practice services.

At Richmond Medical Practice, all standard GP consultations are BULK BILLED.

Additional fees may apply for Procedures, WorkCover related consultations as well as pre-employment medical checks.

*Out of pocket fees apply to all procedures performed by the GP.

If you have any questions regarding procedure fees, please speak to your GP or our friendly reception staff.

*Please note that all fees are payable at time of consultation by cash, EFTPOS or credit card*

  • Appointments

    At Richmond Medical Centre, appointments are preferred but not essential as we also accept walk-ins.

    Our doctors endeavour to see patients as close to their appointment time as possible however; at times we may have unavoidable delays due to urgent matters/presentations in the practice.

    Emergency presentations will be given priority.

    Extended appointments are available upon request at time of booking.

    Appointments are available online through HotDoc and HealthEngine or by contacting our friendly reception team on 03 9292 1111.

  • Reminder System

    Richmond Medical Practice is committed to preventative healthcare to all our patients. We may issue you with a health message through HotDoc (SMS) or via letter offering you preventative care to suit your health needs.

    If you do not wish to be part of our reminder system, please opt out or speak to our reception team.

  • Results

    Richmond Medical Practice respects the importance of test results and patient confidentiality.

    In most cases, a follow-up appointment is required to obtain your test results. No test results will be discussed over the phone unless a telehealth appointment has been arranged with your GP.

  • Communication

    As well as passing on to you health information and important updates, our doctors may also need to contact you directly about your health.

    At Richmond Medical Practice, we use various methods of communication to deliver information to you, such as: phone calls, letters and electronic means, which include SMS and email. Please ensure that your contact details are up-to-date upon each presentation to the practice.
    Should you not wish to be contacted, please inform your GP or our reception reception team.

    Our team will endeavor to respond to all correspondence within 24-48 hours. Please note that no clinical information will be discussed through email.

  • After hours

    National Home Doctor Service is available to patients of Richmond Medical Practice when the clinic is closed. Please call 13 74 25 or for urgent matters call 000.

    The NHDS will provide your GP with a summary of the visit for follow up.

  • Home Visits

    Home visits are only available for regular patients of the practice (within a 5km radius) who are unable to attend because of their medical condition. The home visit is arranged in consultation with your GP and determined on a case by case basis.

  • Feedback & Complaints

    If you are not satisfied with our service, please contact our Practice Manager. We take complaints seriously and aim to resolve them quickly and fairly. If you remain dissatisfied with our response, you may contact the Health Complaints Commissioner (HCC). The HCC responds to complaints about health services and the handling of health information in Victoria. Their service is free, confidential and impartial.

  • Zero Tolerance Policy

    Richmond Medical Practice does not tolerate any form of violent, threatening or aggressive behaviour to any of our practice staff.

    If there is a breach of this policy, we will refuse service and may notify the police.
